Glasgow's Sport Awards, sponsored by Think ALT, celebrate physical activity, sport and wellbeing.
Our categories and criteria are below so nominate now to make sure the people and projects you see make a difference are recognised.

2025 Nomination Categories
This award is for a business that has supported the delivery of physical activity in Glasgow.
We want to recognise businesses that offer practical support, advice and investment to help community activity thrive.
Previous winners of this award have included a local business supporting a boxing club with a minibus.
Nominations for this category can be submitted as a written or video nomination - please choose one format.
- Video nominations can be uploaded via the nomination form or sent to gsa@glasgowlife.org.uk via WeTransfer.
- Videos should be no longer than 1 minute and please make sure there is not too much background noise and please use royalty free music.
- Remember you are telling us why this business/ project should win the award so please be clear and tell us what has happened.

Glasgow Business Contribution Award Video Nomination

This award is for an individual that has shown an outstanding commitment for coaching and further development of participants within sport clubs or coaching athletes to compete at major events.
We want to recognise a coach that has been a positive role model and has supported those they coach to improve their performances.

- Glasgow Resident.
- Member of a Glasgow Club.
- Coaches Glasgow-based athletes or clubs.
Previous winners include Franco Smith, Jonny Mitchell and Andy Young.
This award is for an organisation or project that uses physical activity or sport to make a difference within their community.
Previous winners include organisations that have delivered targeted activities that support people in their community to be active.
This includes breaking down barriers associated with ethnically diverse populations, people with disabilities and families living in poverty.
Nominees must be delivering activities that meet community need within Glasgow.

Previous winners of this award include Stephen McGuire MBE, Samantha Kinghorn MBE and Gordon Reid OBE.
This award is for an organisation or project that demonstrates significant achievements in using physical activity and sport to positively impact upon the physical and mental wellbeing of individuals and groups.
Nominations are welcomed for organisations and projects that deliver targeted activities to improve the health and wellbeing of those who attend.
Previous winners include projects that delivered activities targeted at inactive groups including people living with Parkinson's and Dementia.
Nominees should be delivering activity within Glasgow.
This award is for a person who has shown outstanding commitment, dedication and enthusiasm in their support of sport over a considerable period of time (20+ years).
We want to recognise someone who has gone above and beyond throughout their life to help more people be active in their sport or community.
Nominees must meet one of the following criteria:
- Born in Glasgow.
- Glasgow Resident
- Member of a Glasgow Club
Previous winners include Morag McCulloch (Badminton Scotland), Elizabeth Wilder (Victoria Park AC) and Willie Cameron (Shoot for Success SCIO).
This category is sponsored by Think ALT.
- Born in Glasgow.
- Glasgow Resident.
- Member of a Glasgow Club.
- Made a significant contribution to sport in Glasgow.
Previous winners of this award include Duncan Scott OBE, Katie Archibald MBE, Samantha Kinghorn MBE, Sir Andy Murray and Laura Muir.
This award is for an organisation or project that uses physical activity or sport to bring people and communities together in Glasgow.
We want to recognise projects that actively break down barriers to make sport and physical activity more inclusive.
Nominations are welcomed from organisations that have delivered targeted activities that enhance equality and diversity in sport.
Nominees must be delivering activity within Glasgow.
Previous winners of this award have delivered projects using sport to integrate asylum seekers and refugees into local communities.

- Member of a Glasgow Club.
Previous winners of this award include Nadine Grahame (Shettleston Boxing Club), Sarah Howitt (Maryhill Community Tennis Club) and Abdul Bostani (Glasgow Afghan United).
This award is for a young sportsperson, aged 18 years of age or younger, who has displayed outstanding performances at a local, regional, national or international level within their sport.
We want to recognise a young athlete whose has achieved outstanding success within their sport.
Nominees must meet one of the following criteria:
- Born in Glasgow.
- Glasgow Resident.
- Member of a Glasgow Club.
Previous winners include Dean Patterson (Athletics). Zain Iqbal (Boxing) and Katie Shanahan (Swimming) .

Yes - you can make multiple nominations or nominate the same person or group in multiple categories.
You will need to complete a separate form for each nomination.
When you submit your nomination you will be directed to a page that confirms we have received this and gives you the option to submit another.
All nominations, with the exception of Lifetime Achievement, should highlight achievements and impact between September 2024 - September 2025.
You will need to complete the form in one go. We would recommend that you have the information required with you to allow you to do this.
Please check what is required for the nomination below and you can copy and paste into the form.
We will ask for your name and contact details. This will allow us to get in touch for more information or if your nominee is shortlisted and we can't get in touch with them.
You will need to provide us with the nominee information (name, contact details, club etc).
The main questions will focus on background of the nominee and achievements / impact within the past 12 months. There is a word limit of 200 words on each of the two questions.
Please remember to look at the category criteria to make sure you are providing the best information for your nominee.
We are pleased to add the possibility of a video nomination within the Glasgow Business Contribution Award this year.
It's not possible to nominate via video for other categories in 2025.

It is a good idea to let your nominee know that you are nominating then to make sure they are happy with this.
We will contact all shortlisted nominees to confirm they are happy to be considered for the award.
When you have submitted your nomination you will be directed to a webpage that confirms we have received this and offer you the opportunity to complete another.

Nominations close at midnight on Tuesday 30th September 2025.
They will be compiled and presented to the awards panel which includes representatives from across sport, physical activity and wellbeing in Glasgow.
Shortlisted nominees will be contacted and announced in early November.
Glasgow's Sport Awards will be hosted in the Emirates Arena in December.

Uniting Glasgow Award 2024 - Pollok Utd (PACE Project)
Pollok United received the 2024 Uniting Glasgow Award for their PACE Project.
This project offers free football and support to asylum seekers and refugees often acting as an entry point into living in Glasgow. The project provides an opportunity to meet others from the same country through sport.
