Seasonal
Affective Disorder (SAD) affects mood, energy and motivation during the darker
months of the year. Over winter 2022–23, researchers from the University of
Glasgow and the University of Edinburgh worked with people in Glasgow affected
by SAD through a series of creative workshops exploring self-care, routine and
living well through winter.
This free
mini-exhibition at The Mitchell features photographs and stories created during
the workshops. Each image is accompanied by words drawn from participants’ own
experiences, offering an intimate and powerful insight into life with SAD.
Together, the works helped shape the Wintering Well programme now available in
Glasgow Life Libraries.
Wintering Well is on display at The Mitchell Library from 12 January to 9 February 2026.
We have created a reading list on our online catalogue to help give you a boost this winter.
