Merchant City Festival is back this weekend!

Get ready for a weekend full of fun in one of Glasgow’s oldest areas — the Merchant City Festival is back from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 July.

There will be lots to enjoy, including arts, comedy, circus acts, dancing and live music. Performers from Glasgow and beyond will be taking over the streets and venues to put on a great show.

This year’s theme is Fair: Play, which celebrates the old Glasgow Fair Fortnight, a time when families took a break to rest and enjoy themselves.

You can enjoy free family fun all weekend, thanks to groups like Imaginate (Scotland’s children’s theatre), Surge Festival and Bridgeman Arts. There will also be exciting things happening at Merchant Square and The Social Hub.

The festival will kick off with a big ceilidh that everyone can join, as part of Glasgow 850, a celebration of 850 years since the city became a Burgh in 1175.

You can also explore the popular craft and gift markets and try tasty food from all over the world, thanks to Dockyard Social.
