Gravitational Waves – What, How, Where, Why?
The announcement of the first direct detection of gravitational waves in 2015 was the result of many decades of experimental effort, stemming from the predictions of Einstein and others almost a century before. People often ask what are gravitational waves, how did we detect them, where is the field going, and why should we care anyway?
Glasgow University lecturer Dr Jamie Scott will try to answer these questions in an accessible manner.
