Flu Vaccination Programme

What is the Flu Vaccination Programme?

Each year Glasgow Life provides an opportunity for staff to receive the flu vaccination.

We are again pleased to offer the opportunity for all Glasgow Life colleagues to participate in the Flu Vaccination Programme for Autumn/Winter 2025.

You will be able to participate by requesting a voucher and there is more information below on how to do this.

Flu Vaccinations 2025

Our Flu Vaccination Programme for 2025 is now open.

As we have a limited number of vouchers, we ask that if you qualify for a free flu vaccination through the NHS, please take advantage of it. This will enable us to help as many colleagues as possible receive the vaccine. There is more information and some links below about eligibility and booking an appointment with the NHS.

Who is eligible to participate in this programme?

All Glasgow Life colleagues can participate in this programme.  However, some people are entitled to a vaccination through the NHS.  People who can get the NHS vaccine are:

aged 65 and over

aged 18 to 64 with an eligible health condition

pregnant

living in a long-stay residential care home or other long-stay care facility

living with someone who has a weakened immune system

an unpaid or young carer

a frontline health or social care worker

a non-frontline NHS worker

a poultry worker or bird handler

an asylum seeker living in a home office hotel or B&B accommodation

experiencing homelessness or substance misuse

living in a Scottish prison

If you belong to one of these groups, we would ask that you access your vaccination through the NHS to enable as many colleagues as possible to get their vaccine. There is more information about eligibility and how to book your appointment on the NHS Inform website (link below, under "Further information and guidance").

How to request a voucher

To request your voucher, please email fluvaccination@glasgowlife.org.uk with the following information:

  • Your name
  • SAP number
  • the email address that you wish the voucher to be sent to

You will receive a vaccination voucher by email that you can redeem at a Boots store on a date/time that suits you.

How to receive your vaccination

Once you have received your voucher:

1. Book your appointment online

Visit the link provided on your voucher and answer a few simple questions to help them check the service is suitable for you.  You will be guided through the system to book your appointment.

2. Attend your appointment

Tell the pharmacy team member that you are using the corporate flu scheme and have your voucher available to show in store if required.

3. Receive your vaccine

Your Boots vaccinator will confirm a few details and carry out the vaccination.  The flu vaccination is suitable for most people, the pharmacist can help with any questions.

What if there are no vouchers left?

We only have a limited number of vouchers available so please only request a voucher if you are certain that you will use it.

The vouchers will be released in two batches in order to let colleagues on leave access a voucher.

When the first batch is released, there will be no waiting list once all the vouchers have been allocated.

The second batch will be released two weeks later. If you didn’t get a voucher in the first batch, this is your opportunity to get one. Please note that if you already sent a request during the release of the first batch and didn’t get a voucher, you will need to submit another request on this date.

Once we have allocated the vouchers in the second batch, we will create a waiting list to re-allocate returned vouchers.
