Updated recruitment policies and guidance - what you need to know
We've updated the following policies:
- Recruitment
- Recruitment of People with Previous Convictions (Previously known as Recruitment of Ex-Offenders)
You'll find both on the Colleague Information HR A-Z Pages.
What's new?
In the Recruitment Policy, we have:
- Linked to our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Strategy. Reflecting our commitment to a diverse workforce.
- Added details about the appointment of internal hires across the council family.
- Confirmed our legal obligation to ensure all appointed candidates receive their written Statement of Particulars before starting their first day.
- Clarified details on pay and progression through our pay scales.
- Added details on how to raise recruitment-related complaints.
In the Recruitment of People with Previous Convictions Policy, we have:
- Changed the title to ensure inclusive language.
- Aligned with the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
- Added clearer guidance on having open, fair discussions about criminal history. We have used the 'central conversation' approach from Scotland Works for You.
